Amelia a little kid of 7 years old that has bad conditions. She is treated badly , she does all the work that a helper of the house does but if she does something wrong or late the masters hit her.

She works without payment and she is treated badly like here in the text says “ I was a little late in serving breakfast so the master beat me with leather strap ”. She has no decent clothes she has a broken shirt and no shoes like here whet it says “ my clothes re raged and I have no shoes.

She sleeps outside in the back yard and sometimes in the house floor like here in the text where it says “ last night I slept outside ; sometimes they let me sleep inside on the floor
