My opinion about this is that is unfair the situation that is passing Amelia and all the work she must do without the necessary.

If Amelia is not doing her work in the way her master wants they would hit her.

One example was that Amelia once gave the breakfast five minutes later and the master whipped her.

For me they are violating her rights by mistreating her and making Amelia to work.
